Biography
Tristan Gorrindo, MD is Director of postgraduate medical education at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) where he oversees program innovation, business strategy & development, and technology implementation. He is involved in the development and implementation of novel learning paradigms, including web-based simulation and mobile platform learning. He is the inventor of the Computer Simulation Assessment Tool (CSAT) and his research interests include the use of web-based simulation in Psychiatry. He is currently the principal investigator in a study examining heart-rate variability and autonomic arousal in web-based CME activities.
Dr. Gorrindo has a strong interest in medical education and serves as the Associate Director of the Medical Student Clerkship in Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital in addition to his work with the MGH Academy. He is also the co-chair of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s CME committee.
Clinically, Dr. Gorrindo is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital with an expertise in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Problematic Internet Behaviors. In addition, Dr. Gorrindo is an Assistant Editor of the Harvard Review of Psychiatry. He is the co-author of The Digital Family blog hosted by Psychology Today and a faculty member within the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Mental Health and the Media with a special expertise in Internet media.
Dr. Gorrindo graduated from medical school at Vanderbilt University and completed his psychiatry training in adult and child psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed the Clinical Research Training Program at the National Institutes of Health, and previously worked as a software designer. He has extensive work-experience in demography and survey science.
